![]() The ideas that came from the biomimicry search were fascinating. I like to do what I call an inspirational search when I start a new project. Biomimicry in architecture and manufacturing is the practice of designing buildings and products that simulate or co-opt processes that already occur in nature. Biomimicry is the science and art of emulating nature’s best biological ideas to solve human (mutant?) problems. Then I started learning about biomimicry, and that changed the direction of my designs for the book. So the environments should be something different from human architecture. But if you design a regular building and then you add vegetation over it, it doesn't look organic, it looks abandoned. I had to design a lot of new environments for a world made of vegetation and flora. It makes the mutant world so distinct and so different from the human society that the gulf between them seems irreconcilable.įor me, that idea was both inspirational and challenging. And making all mutantkind-related elements based on organic, natural shapes was one of the best ideas Jonathan had. The idea of a Krakoa-based civilization was in the very beginning of the story. Since comics are a visual medium, it also had to visually establish that difference. It establishes the new status quo for the relationship between humans and mutants, as well as the new gap between them. HOUSE OF X #1 is, in essence, a world-building issue. recently invited Larraz to share his commentary on HOUSE OF X #1, which we present to you below in his own words. Now, Larraz is teaming up with writer Jonathan Hickman on HOUSE OF X, one half of the highly anticipated X-Men event that started this summer. They're using 'Major' as a rank here, not a name.If you’ve been reading Marvel Comics for the past few years, it should be no surprise that Pepe Larraz is one of the rising stars in the industry with his breathtaking runs on UNCANNY AVENGERS, EXTERMINATION, and AVENGERS: NO SURRENDER. They are analogous characters within the same continuity family. I really think, when we get around to adding this info, it should go on Sentinel Prime (G1). Wouldn't it actually be an accurately aimed shot? Shots hitting close to each other are precise, shots hitting the target are accurate. It's definitely possible, especially during a close-quarters struggle. I don't think it's logically possible to have a non-precisely-aimed point-blank shot. Unless this description of Sentinel's armor is a direct quote from someplace, I'd suggest rewording it. ![]() Dark T Zeratul 09:01, 7 February 2008 (UTC) Just make it a "Sentinel Prime" disambig. When did - Rosicrucian Talk 03:39, 7 February 2008 (UTC) Really, I could have sworn that Sentinel Prime was Prime before war started, and thus Megatron had slaughtered, at max, one Prime before Optimus. Everyone specifically said Sentinel Prime (and all the others) did a piss-poor job. and why was he unsuccessful? because he died? Optimus Prime died, does that make him unsuccessful? What about the Primes that reigned during times of peace? - Derik 02:30, 12 June 2006 (UTC)īecause everyone said he was. I plan to put that in his main section since he's such a ciper. There's a fairly lengthy list of Sentinel Prime's abilities and weapons in the Keepers Trilogy. Is UT Optimus Prime not Autobot leader? He has a council of ancients who can veto him as well. I'd argue that Sentinel Prime was still Autobot leader even though he had a council to answer to. (Well, Prime possibly was followign Xaaron's death.) But in Marvel's backstory (at least UK) Optimus Prime was the first TF made leader of the Autobots, which had previously been led by the High Council (one of the reasons for their ineffectiveness.) And that's jsut the army. ItsWalky 01:15, 12 June 2006 (UTC)Īnd I woudl agree with you. What I'm saying is he looks like he's Autobot leader to me. you mean like the one I uploaded 2 minutes ago? - Derik 01:11, 12 June 2006 (UTC) Isn't there a Marvel UK panel of Sentinel Prime passing the Matrix to Optimus? That's the only full-body shot we've ever got of him. Optimus Prime beign named Commander-in-Chief of the army was the turning point of the war. 'There Shall Come a Leader' and all that said the Autobots were not only led by the High Council, but they also commanded the military. Prime-as-leeader-of-the-Autobots didnt' come about until well after SP's death. I think that statement wans't true outside of Dreamwave continuity Walky. ![]() 9.1 The Official Word on Sentinel Major.
